The passengers of PIA dropped their flights due t0 smog & preferred to travel by bus. Smog occurred due to air pollution, which is very harmful for our health& life. The majority  of accident caused by smog. There are many PIA flights cancelled due to this serious reason. All we should avoid travelling when smog appeared surrounded by us.

Smog can cause eye and nose irritation and it dries out the protective membranes of the nose and throat and interferes with the body’s ability to fight infection, increasing susceptibility to illness.

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Abu Dhabi landed at Lahore and the airline staffers offered passengers to facilitate them by taking them to their desired destination by a bus, reports Geo News.

However, the passengers turned down the PIA’s offer and refused to leave the plane.

Reportedly, the pilot refused to take the plane to Rahim Yar Khan because of the low visibility due to smog.

The approximate time distance from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan is eight-to-nine hours on drive.

The passengers requested that at least the national airline should drop them at Multan Airport, in view of its proximity to Rahim Yar Khan.

“Unfortunately, in Pakistan, we lack the equipment for real-time monitoring of air quality,” he regretted while talking to DP Global. He added that an advisory warning to students has been issued and have been advised to take in water as much they could.

Smog is a kind of air pollution, originally named for the mixture of smoke and fog in the air – a problem in a number of cities. Ground-level ozone, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide carbon monoxide are especially harmful to senior citizens, children, and people with heart and lung conditions such as emphysema, bronchitis, and asthma.

Residents of Lahore are witnessing a dense blanket of smog that reduced visibility for commuters and prompted several complaints of respiratory problems and mental anguish.
